Le Bon Genre, etiquette and attire for the ball

By 'Fancy Vintage' we mean an event that combines the elegance of past eras with the pure joy of dancing. To ensure that this ball becomes an unforgettable and harmonious experience for all guests, we ask you to observe the following conventions for our ballroom as well as the organizational deadlines.

Rules of Dance and Convention

In order to guarantee the execution of the event
and to prepare the hall bindingly for you,
we politely ask for your esteemed booking
by September 15th, 2026 at the latest.
Note on reimbursement:
Should the minimum number of 35 participants not be reached
and the ball have to be canceled by us,
the paid fee will of course be fully refunded
to you without deductions.
During the dances, the set must not be left under any circumstances.
Please generally line up at the end of the set. This naturally applies to lively Duple Minor dances as well as more complex formations.
In the spirit of gallantry, we ask the ladies to occasionally yield their gentleman
to other ladies for a dance; likewise, the gentlemen should
dedicate their attention equally to all ladies of the society.
We politely request you to maintain silence during the dance instructions
and to listen to the explanations –
even if you already consider yourself confident
in the knowledge of the dance.
A watchful eye on the other dancers is an excellent means
to grasp the flow of the dance and to increase one's own safety.
Mobile phones must be put on silent
(with the exception of the organizer for availability).
Pets are not allowed in the ballroom.
In the interest of monument preservation and safety, we kindly ask you
to celebrate the turn of the year without your own fireworks.
On the entire castle grounds and within a radius of 200 meters,
the setting off of fireworks is not permitted.

Training Attire

A practical tip for our dance training

We want you to feel comfortable with us from the very first minute. Since our beautiful castle vault can initially remain somewhat chilly in winter despite intensive pre-heating for several days, we recommend a warming wardrobe for the training in the afternoon. When we open the ball later in the evening and the hall fills with life, music, and dancing guests, the temperatures will rise to a wonderfully pleasant level all by themselves.

For our Historical New Year's Eve Ball at Wiesenthau Castle
the joy of appearance and the respect for the different eras are paramount.
We ask for your understanding that absolute historical perfection is not required.
There is no difference in class & rank. It doesn't matter whether dressed historically or costumed,
everyone is welcome here, everyone celebrates and dances with each other here...

About the Masquerade

Although there is no obligation to wear a mask at the ball,
I recommend that anyone who wishes to indulge in casual revelry
acquire a suitable mask beforehand.
